Cellulite - How Essential Oils & Natural, Organic Living can Help

What is Cellulite

Its a term used to describe the dimpled, orange peel appearance of skin caused by fat deposits that are just below the surface of the skin.
Usually it appears on the arms, abdomen, legs, bottom, and pelvic region. It can appear at any age but usually after puberty and effects both men and women, although is more common in women.
Its can caused by various reasons i.e. poor circulation, lack of oxygen, water retention and hormonal changes – some people even blame an allergy to wheat and milk products. Toxicity is the main cause which could be due to the environment, so is out of our control or our diet. Tea and Coffee should be eliminated from your diet if you suffer with cellulite.
Treatment to eliminate these unsightly deposits is not that easy and it can always return. Not only is the air we breathe and the water we drink polluted but vegetables now contain pesticides, herbisides and fungicides. Try to buy organic fruit and vegetables, free range eggs and wholemeal bread and organic meat where possible. Also, try to reduce stress levels in your every day life – easier said than done I know but Essential Oils are a wonderful way to help you relax. Supplement your diet with Vitamin C, Vitamin B and Zinc.

How you can help eliminate Cellulite

Exercise

Try to exercise the areas that have cellulite as this is where the toxic waste hovers.

 Circulation

Increase the blood circulation to these areas by skin brushing. Use a brush with real bristles in an upward movement all over the body

 Massage

Enjoy an all over massage every day – not just to the areas of cellulite but all over your body. This will not only help the cellulite but will also relax you eliminating the stress factor

Use the following essential oils in your bath, massage oil or shower gel. Oils in your bath will penetrate your skin by osmosis so will help to break down the fatty deposits.

A very easy, simple recipe was given on ITV’S Lorraine, Wednesday, 27th June, 2012
Grapeseed Oil mixed with Sea Salt should be massaged gentle in circular movements onto the areas that had cellulite and then removed with warm water to leave your skin soft and supple. How simple is that!
